I was being completely serious. What is more important that he must do at 7pm at night? I think it shows disrespect and maybe that he is trying to avoid direct questioning!

Um... he does have a job, a big job, and who knows, it could be medical, it could be personal. I'm sure, knowing him, that it is something that he couldn't get away from and had previous plans. He's not the "sneaky" or the "avoidance" kind. Trust me, he doesn't run away from problems, he tackles them head on.

Not this one!

Do you even know him or are you just being a pantywaist and trying to start something?

listen you can get off my nutz... I don't need to know him. I know that he has chosen not to attend the meeting of the candidates. Now you can spin that north south east or west. I have no idea who he is other than he is tied to an organization and church that would most likely reinstate John Freshwater. Now I have meet John and I like him. I have had 3 kids roll through his class. All three liked him and one of my kids was borderline goth! Now if she liked him that says a lot for the man! That being said I think that if these people are playing for an end run around his firering and are stacking this election to rehire him. I want to know if this is the case. If it is then every one of them can blow it out their ---

I simply think he needs to change his plans and refute what I have said and many others are thinking!

Yea, I bet he's really worried about not showing for Justin.  :hysterical: :hysterical:

Wow, you really are dillusional, first you think everyone is "dying" to find out "who you are" and now you think it matters if Thompson shows up to appease you. He doesn't act like an immature doofus, you might just try following his example.

And you must really have a "perverted sexual disability" to keep posting things like "get off my nutz", and all the other sexual inuendos that you have posted. Now I imagine you in your parents basement with a bag of cheetos.  :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

Look I have no desire to debate your reading comprehension level in this thread. When I speak of me. I am speaking in the collective sense of "everyone like me"

Thompson should be worried about people that feel like I do! I think that he is running a game! I think that he could clear that up by making himself available. Funny how this works huh.. Remember how everyone cried about Zack Space? Well this is a real meeting for candidates. Not some private fundraiser in Gambier! He can put up or shut up!! Paula is looking better by the minute!

My money is on Ms. Barone  to garner the most votes - we'll see if either Freshwater supporters Thompson or Kirk can unseat either Watson or Hughes

hopefully not......

Seriously though, he is one of the most honest people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He's very fair, very dedicated. And I say that as having been a democrat. He is also very bright. He would actually be a plus for your schoool system.

If he is an honest person, as you indicate he is, he has clearly supported John Freshwater as stated at a previous school board meeting.  I would venture to bet that he continues his support of Mr. Freshwater.

He also serves on the board which is fundraising for Freshwater's defense.

Mr. Thompson's son testified on behalf of Mr. Freshwater in the current district hearing.  I was in the court for that testimony.  I found his testimony to be full of speculation and inuendo (from my perspective), accusing the victim's grandfather of "manufacturing" the photos of the injury to the arm without any factual evidence......just his thoughts and speculation.  Mr. Thompson, the teacher, has indicated that he continues to defy the district in his display of religious items (leaving a bible on his desk) and, again, from my perspective is a Freshwater clone that could likely send our district into another lawsuit down the road for openly violating separation of church and state as well.

I would like to see Mr. Thompson's resume especially related to his post high school education since he "claims the school district is operating with a $3 million deficit, and he plans to implement long-range financial and planning strategies if elected.

There could be many reasons. I had 3 kids graduate through public school, however, my last one struggled and struggled and had a lot of sickness. We talked and talked about home schooling and he even begged us to at one time. We didn't end up doing it, but I can tell you as one who has considered it, there are many reasons and not all of them revolve around the actual school that they attended but may somehow be related to what's going on with the child. You do what's right for the particular child, not what you think other people will say about it.

I understand you like him. I really feel that there is an agenda. How can you try to raise money for someone to pay the legal fees of a lawsuit, then run to be on that same organization that is being  sued?
That is what concerns me, that it will cause even MORE legal bills in the future.

Oh I see where you want to go with this and I'm not going to go there. He is a honest person. I just offered up my opinion of someone I know personally. You can take that information and do what you want with it. You can have your own perceptions of him, have at it. But I've already stated above that I have no idea about the Freshwater incidence, well other than what I have read on here. He is a very fair person, he will listen to anyone and will judge for himself. I've never known him to be a partisan person and like I said, I was a gung ho democrat until this past election and I would have voted for him even if he was a republican because I think he is a very good man. And since I'm not a democrat anymore and probably wouldn't vote for a democrat again, I would still vote for him if he was a democrat. That's how good of a person I think he is.

You guys will have to make up your own mind. I'm only telling you what I know about him.It is your vote, not mine.

I also wonder why the one class they had their daughter take at the middle school was Mr. Freshwater's class.

I guess that is what I am trying to explain. He would help raise money for anyone who he thought was hurting. That is the nature of the man. He would raise money to help someone even if he didn't agree with them politically. I don't know what his relationship is to Freshwater. I truthfully don't. But I know that Steve would help anyone out, no matter what.

So you support the rehiring of Mr. Freshwater?  And are you ready for the district financial ramifications of that?

Whether Mr. Thompson is nice or not, whether he is honest or not, in reality is not the point here.  It is whether or not he is running with a hidden agenda to overturn the district's position on the firing of Mr. Freshwater.  Attempts to do this will very likely cause our district to continue to fight lawsuits that will be brought by citizens concerned about Mr. Freshwater's teachings in the classroom.

Well he didn't help the family raise money, or the school board. I still think it is a conflict to be on the same board you are helping raise money to fight.
Just like you I have my opinion.

He seems like a nice enough guy. No one is questioning him as a person. It is the agenda that is is the problem in my book. I would feel better if he said "I plan to rehire the guy" instead of playing Opossum! Its about the truth isn't it?
