Pete Rose Advises Roger Clemens To Come Clean

Pete Rose told ESPN he would advise Roger Clemens, who was indicted last week for allegedly lying to Congress about using steroids, to come clean.

"The only advice I'd give him would be something that he's probably 120 percent against," Rose said.

The all-time leader in hits also said he wishes he had come clean in 1989. "Because I would've saved myself a lot of grief, a lot of everything," he explained.

Rose also explained why he doesn't believe Clemens is telling the truth, saying he doesn't think Andy Pettitte is lying.

Rose received a lifetime ban from baseball for betting on the game. After denying it for 15 years, he finally admitted it in 2004.

I'd rather slam my nose in a car door. I'd rather have a proctologist named Dr. Hook. I would rather watch Roseanne Barr do a striptease than give up my MVOhio.

Pete Rose would most likely be in the hall of fame now, if he himself did what he is saying. It is best to listen to the man who has been there.

I totally agree..........

At this point, I don't believe Pete will ever become a member of the hall.  No one whom has been suspended for life has ever been reinstated.  I don't see Pete being the first.

This is also an all-time pisser.  His skills and abilities
place him in the front row of the Hall of Fame....

     BUT...

his other proclivities and actions kicked himself out.
And it's the package that/who gets inducted.

What a bummer, that he did what he did.

If we add up all the drug, sex, and steroid(I know it is a drug) use by others, maybe they should lighten up on Pete. They can put in a lesson about what he did.

My opinion is Pete definitely should be in the hall of fame.  How can you take away his on-field accomplishments? If you want to put an asterisk next to his name that states "currently banned from MLB" do it, but to pretend the man never existed is a farce.

Pete never cheated the game, however the same can't be said for Roger Clemens and his cronies from the steroid era. Due to their use of PEDs, the integrity of the game has been severely compromised and so many of the most hallowed records have been rendered bogus. Think about this, the man who holds the all time home run record, along with the most homers in a year, (Barry Bonds) will most likely never be in the hall, and deservedly so. His record will eventually be passed by Alex Rodriquez who is also a know steroid abuser.

MLB allowed the steroid era to happen, and now they're paying the price.

Well first of all congress has absolutly NO bussiness in this ,and no it`s not right for athelets to use steroids, it should be up to the baseball commision to deside. plan and simple. If there are found guilty of useing by the MLB then kick themout. But Gumberment has no athority in magor league sports :nyah:

Pete's accomplishments were done without drugs.
I agree that his achievements should be acknowledged.
Any other numbers for others are not real.

Your idea for it is very workable.
