I checked the 'rules'

Each and every one of them CAN be recalled

It would take a petition to do so, and 1,600 signatures from registered voters

A complaint for their removal could then be filed, and the case would be heard in Common Pleas Court, in front of a Jury.

Might win; might lose.  The publicity, however, would be priceless.

The school board says they are fine without that employee, says it's fine they pay him for being off because his absence will not be missed....obviously neither will his salary.....and they tell us it's none of our business WHY they are doing it....They tell us if we vote "no" WE are hurting the kids.....(not them)......

And I am buying Lil Forest's Teachers Dry erase markers, Boxes of pencils, post-it note pads out the ying yang, paper towels, and hand sanitizer for the class like there is no tomorrow??????

OK, now tell me again very slowly exactly HOW and WHO are hurting the Children?

oh, my achin' ass..............

My step daughter went to Mt. Vernon schools in elementary...(she is now 23)...and I remember buying stuff...but not to the degree that we do today.  I have a kindergartner and a 1st Grader and when I seen their lists this year I about died.  And yes all the things you mentioned were on the list.  I even bought my daughter a nice pencil box...and crayons, erasers...all to be told that they were getting thrown all together FOR THE WHOLE CLASS.  Do not put their names on them.  That is something that kinda burns me.  We sink so much money in the schools...why do they have to share their own supplies with the whole class?  And how is that teaching them to be responsible for their OWN stuff.  And I found out the pencil box I got her was taken away.  And already (when I bought this stuff, I bought extra from home)...I have had to give her stuff from home because it is NOT available.  scratching my head and holding on to my azz for dear life.

But I guess if this is something that really MIFFED us (about Dr. Haschak)...then why did no one protest at the school board meeting the last time??? hmmm???  Just a wondering.

I believe I've been told that too.... I have not got real involved yet because my kids are not in school yet so I don't know what goes on in the system. Thanks Kingsun for the heads up about sharing the supplies. Dollar store here we come

hmm...that is interesting to know.

I am new in the game again.  Never had a problem when my step daughter was in school..and she turned out great.  Has a good career and habits.

And that is the only complaint really I have now.  (with the supplies)  I am happy with the school they go to and the teachers have been great so far.  But I am new in the school system yet...and have MANY years to go.  And yes...it does have me perplexed why this guy is getting this deal.  And I hope something is found out soon.

Kingsun - they're right - you have to get 'permission' to speak, and you must have the subject matter approved.

In this case, even if you did get to speak, it's patently obvious that all you'd recieve is a recitation of the letter Watson sent to everyone.

Which answers nothing at all.

If no answers come forth, a recall would be the way to go.  But it'd take a lot of time, energy and dedication to see it through.

Putting all the supplies into a community pot has always irked me, too! It's not that I discourage sharing, but my thoughts are, all the parents know this is what they do so what is stopping some lazy-ass parents from just not sending in any supplies because they know other parents will and the kids have to share them? I put my kids names on everything!  ;D Also, why are we now sending in supplies for the art room ( another set of markers and glue) and why post-it notes? My kids never bring home any of their work done on post-it's! In addition to providing all the supplies, parents also have to pay school fees!      :soapbox: OK, I'm done now. thanks for listening!  ;D

back to your regularly scheduled program...

I've never tried it - would be interesting to see what would happen, though   ;D

The school board keeps saying that the written settlement is confidential...In general, all public records may be inspected by the public, unless there is a specific exception law.  Has anyone made a formal public records request for the settlement agreement?  If so, and if the request was refused, what specific exception was cited.  I would be interested in the results.

I submitted, by email, a public records request for the written settlement, asking for case law to back up any refusal to provide same ....I'll let you know how Watson responds
