I have a question.

Would you, AS A PARENT, be concerned if this teacher had a copy of the KKK constitution on his desk.....everyday?

Should ALL students and teachers remove thier necklaces with a cross on them.  I know I wore one 90% of my school career.

Yet still smoked dope, skipped school and "got around" like a mad woman...

go figure.........

Honestly....no. As long as he wasn't talking with my child about it, it is not obscene material and there is no law against it. If my child questioned me about the book, I would explain it to them with out a bias opinion. If any of us checked really hard into our ancestry...you might be surprised to find there might be a 'clan member' sprinkled in there.   ;)

The KKK is a part of our American History. Not a part to be proud of, but a part nevertheless.

I said I would be concerned... but I wouldn't throw a temper tantrum and insist he throw it out (unless he was TEACHING those beliefs to the children).

Yes, but for an entirely different set of reasons.  mostly personality type disorders.... :bananadevil:

Does anyone know what Jesus looked like.   I could have a bobble head of Jim Tressel on my desk to represent a statue of Jesus.  As long as I believe it we would have to outlaw Jim Tressel from our schools.

Jim Tressel is GOD.  (just kidding).

Sorry Forest, but I remember being "taught" about the KKK in school.   I don't remember being "taught" the Bible.

I have heard that students wishing to support Mr Freshwater's cause are asked to bring a Bible to school tomorrow and place in on their desks through out the school day. After school, the students can sign a petition located at 'spirit rock'. The petition will be turned into Mr.Short.

I can remember when my kids were in school, they became part of a demonstration - can't remember what- but they marched up town to the board of education building. School system was not happy with them, but allowed them to go back to school without any repercussions.
