Booya, believers don't believe that to be correct.  As a follower of Jesus, believers are to be ambassadors for Him.  That is not to say to shove it down some one's throat, but to be examples so that your life is a reflection of what it is to be a believer.  However, and it is sad to say, as a believer myself, we all fall short of this goal and it really dirties up the picture.  Being a believer, doesn't mean to be perfect, it just means that as a sinner, to be forgiven and you are relying on the death, burial and resurrection of Christ to save you.  That is Grace.  But to hide it, would be an admission that my faith isn't there.  I hope nothing I say here is construed to shove it down any one's throat, or a judgement, just an attempt to put myself out there for what I believe in.  AND hopefully not to be ridiculed for my beliefs.

OHHHHH..so you speak for all believers?  I believe in God and His son Jesus Christ and, believe me, you do not speak for me.  Anyone who penned a passage in the bible is looong gone.  So, now it is up to interpretation.

Just as I said, religion tears people apart.  Here you prove it by telling me what believers believe and what they should do.  Amazing.

No, Booya, I don't speak for you, I do however speak for myself and what the Bible speaks to as far as me, a believer goes.  It's in there.  Me, a believer, is to be an ambassador for Christ.  I could cite scripture, if you want me to.  Anyone who penned the passages are gone, but God's Word stands as is. Nothing is to be taken out of context, twisted, changed or in anyway altered to fit a scenario or to benefit a cause.

It is pretty clear and concise in what and how believer should live.  I am not trying to tell you or anyone else WHAT TO DO or BELIEVE, just what I know about the Bible. I already stated that I'm a sinner and I don't always follow what I 'should' do, but I am a forgiven sinner.  I always try to do what I believe in

I sure apologize if it came across that way to you or anyone else.  It is not my intent to incense anyone, just state my stand on what I believe.  I'm allowed that aren't I?

I guess maybe the word 'believer' is subjective here and perhaps because you believe something different then what I stated,  it made you feel I was speaking for you and others who believe differently than I do.  I don't know.

It's not my place or job, to judge anyone on what they believe or do or say.  I'm simply stating my position.  How much clearer can I make it?

I respectfully disagree with you - in part.    I think those who wish to, should read and understand the bible; let the others remain ignorant.   I also will not classify the Qur'an any differently than the bible; those who wish to should read and understand, let the others remain ignaorant.

Cool...I don't think it much matters anyway...with a democrap congress all the kids will probably get a Million dollars to compensate them for their pain and suffering.

Oh, and the Koran has passages where Mohammed is screwing young boys while the young boys are screwing sheep, I don't want that in any classroom

But if we have bibles available for kids to read at school, we have to also allow books of other religions to be available to them as well.  We can't pick and choose which religious books are allowed by our OWN beliefs or faith.  That means the Quran or any books about Satanism, Witchcraft (Wicca), The Book of Mormon (even the polygamist sects), etc.  We can't have it both ways.  It's all or nothing.

Now, we just need to make up our minds....

You have got to be kidding me.

No we don't have to allow anything but the Bible in the classroom.  In fact, the majority get to do whatever the hell we want to and it's about time we let the entire country understand that.  I don't have to tolerate a thing that 51% of this country agrees with me on.

Majority rules...it's called democracy.  It is not FORCING people to be Christians, it is FORCING them to know the bible like we FORCE them to study about Martin Lucipher King

Channel 10, said that Freshwater had more bibles and was in direct violation of school policy.

The State allows each school district to make it's own policy when it comes to religion.

Quote
10TV obtained a copy of Mount Vernon's policy and it states that the district does not allow "devotional exercises or displays of a religious character," Mallett reported.

So that right there, he knew going into to this, it was against policy.

Am going to refrain from any more opinions on this until I can see a  copy of the policy, and how it is worded.

IF it is clear that an innocent act such has having a book on a desk is against policy, I will 'flop' on this issue.

But I need to review what it actually says before 'going there.'

This is a pretty good set of nine pages
                 of event reporting and opinion.

It reinforces the wisdom of keeping
                 church and state separate.

Not sure...

Try asking Obamas Pastor -  the Rev. Wright...

He's a Racist so I am sure he could answer your question...
